Mandatory Software Update

Gen4 / 2630 Displays and StarFire 3000 and 6000 Receivers

Deere released a new software update package (20-2) in August that is mandatory for all StarFire 3000 and 6000 Receivers. This update needs completed before February 1, 2021 for those running SF1, SF2, or SF3 correction. If you will be utilizing RTK during harvest this fall, the update needs to be completed before October 15th. We would like to begin updating our base stations to ensure they are ready for Spring of 2021.

This software package can be downloaded from https://www.deere.com/en/stellarsupport/ . If you are not comfortable performing the update, please contact your local LandMark CTS and they can do it for you.

Installation Instructions

  • Utilize the following programs for the updates
    • GS Live Update for 1800 / 2600 or 2630 Displays
    • John Deere Software Manager for Gen4 Displays
  • Once the software has been downloaded to a flash drive (formatted to Fat32), insert the USB into the port on the right-hand side of your display (2630 and 4640 displays). For Gen4 Command Center displays, insert the USB into the port on the right-hand side console (typically by the back pillar).
  • After inserting the USB, you will be prompted to follow the on-screen instructions. Select Install Software/Software Updates for both the display and “Other Devices”. Other devices include the receiver (mandatory update) and any other equipment connected to the CAN bus (ie. rate controller, planter, etc.)
  • Please ensure your machine has adequate power supplied to the components as these updates can take up to an hour to complete. If you have any questions or need assistance completing the update, please contact your CTS or the AMS Help Line at (855) 435-7267.

REMINDER

The end of life for iTC Receivers will be January 1, 2021. Please contact LandMark to upgrade your system ASAP to insure we have availability.
