LandMark John Deere X9-1100 combineSchrock Farms, near Holdrege, NE, put the John Deere X9-1100 to test the maximum harvesting capacity for the second year in a row. Tom got in the X9-1100 with a C16R corn head at 9:06am for a total of 13.5 continuous hours and never looked back!

Conditions:conditions from the cab

  • Light rain shower the evening before made starting conditions tough
  • Stalks in lower-yielding field allowed combine to pick clean
  • Tough stalks early in the day had some cases of row unit plugging at 7mph slowing us down
  • Stalks in 2nd field were very dry and brittle where combine took in a lot of trash
  • Total header/combine losses were between 0.5-1 bu/ac
  • Grain quality was very clean with minimal cob in tank for such open settings
  • First field was baled so windrowed
  • Second field was spread
  • Some rough terrain/rolling ground
  • Less than 4° slopes
